Important – It is no longer possible to book gradings directly with Taekwondo Ireland masters or to hold gradings without informing taekwondo Ireland first.

Under the new legislation ITU registered clubs must have the following:
Garda Vetting:
All ITU Instructors and assistant instructors must complete a Garda Vetting Application specific to Taekwondo.
Garda Vetting obtained for other activities will not suffice.
The ITU are the only WTF Taekwondo body in Ireland currently recognised by An Garda Siochana for Garda Vetting.
Instructors who have completed the initial stage of vetting will shortly receive an email inviting them to be E-Vetted , please complete this section within 30 days of receipt or the link will expire.

Safeguarding:
Each Club Must have the following
Instructors and assistants : Must have completed the Safeguarding 1 workshop
Childrens officer: Must have completed Safeguarding 1&2 Workshop
Designated Liason Person : Must have completed Safeguarding 1&3 Workshop.
The ITU will endeavour to run courses in 2022 for anyone who has missed them during 2021, please email brenda@taekwondoireland.ie with your requirements.
Each club should provide information to all students with regards to Name and contact details for Instructor, Children’s officer and Designated Liason Person.

Road to completion:
Initial Garda Vetting application completed
Safeguarding 1 completed for instructors
DLP and children’s officers identified
Courses attended or booked for 2022
Remember, the above requirements are required by legislation and failure to comply will mean that the ITU cannot accept your membership.
Clubs who operate outside legislation may be refused insurance and will be required by law to produce evidence of compliance to those responsible for leasing or renting premises to individuals .
